What Does This App Do?

Extract one or more pages from a single Portable Document Format (PDF) file into one or more new files. Type a single page number, multiple page numbers or range of page numbers into the input box to specify which pages to extract and how many files to create.

Use the file box to upload the initial PDF either by dragging a file across the window or clicking to show the upload dialog box.

Is My Data Safe?

All data transfers are encrypted using HTTPS, uploaded files are scanned for malware and finally all data shall be deleted after processing has been completed. For peace of mind, users can also manually delete the output files from the server when they're no longer required.

What Are The Limitations?

One PDF can be uploaded with a size of 10MB. No maxmimum on the number of pages the PDF can contain. The PDF can be either scanned or generated from PostScript.

What Interpretation Engine Do You Use?

This app uses Ghostscript, a CentOS Linux based interpreter and rendering program, to open the uploaded file and to output to the new PDFs.

Split or Extract?

The Split app will split a single PDF into two new documents with all pages processed. This extraction app is more appropriate if either:

  1. Multiple output files are wanted;
  2. Only a limited number of pages are needed.

How Does the Page Number Input Work?

E.g. "2-3, 6, 8-10" in the input box will give the following output:

  1. Pages 2 and 3 in one file;
  2. Page 6 in a second file;
  3. Pages 8-10 in a third file.
