What Does This App Do?

Separate a single Portable Document Format (PDF) file into two new files. Type a single page number into the input box to specify where the split will occur. E.g. if page 6 is specified for a 10 page document, then the two PDFs will have pages 1-6 and 7-10 respectively.

Use the file box to upload the initial PDF either by dragging a file across the window or clicking to show the upload dialog box.

Is My Data Safe?

All data transfers are encrypted using HTTPS, uploaded files are scanned for malware and finally all data shall be deleted after processing has been completed. For peace of mind, users can also manually delete the output files from the server when they're no longer required.

What Are The Limitations?

One PDF can be uploaded with a size of 10MB. No maxmimum on the number of pages the PDF can contain. The PDF can be either scanned or generated from PostScript.

What Interpretation Engine Do You Use?

This app uses Ghostscript, a CentOS Linux based interpreter and rendering program, to open the uploaded file and to output to the new files.

Split or Extract?

This app will split a PDF into two new documents. The extraction app is more appropriate if either:

  1. Multiple output files are wanted;
  2. Only a limited number of pages are needed.
